  • Some Occupation

Many of the occupation activities of the person including repeated movements of the neck, awkward positions or too much overhead work etc. cause additional stress on the neck which contributes to the development of the person's cervical spondylosis. • Smoking

Excessive smoking damages the neck discs. This cervical disc prevents spinal shocks located between the vertebrae. When the person smokes more, this disc starts shrinking which reduces their ability to absorb backbone shock and increases the chances of a person having cervical spondylosis.

  • Tension

A person's excessive tension affects their neck muscles. A state of high tension causes a tightening in the neck muscles of the person causing pain in their neck. This pain causes a person's irritability, fatigue and depression and develops cervical spondylosis.

  • Obesity

A person's increased weight can contribute significantly to the development of cervical spondylosis. The person's spine is designed to handle body weight. At the same time, the spine divides the load that comes when the person is resting and doing many other activities.
