Miscarriage Treatment

Overview

After a woman becomes pregnant, when the fetus in her uterus is not able to develop normally and is automatically destroyed, this condition is called abortion, under which the fetus terminates before the completion of five months of pregnancy. Most miscarriages occur during 14 weeks of pregnancy i.e. 3 months. A woman's miscarriage occurs when the fetus is not able to develop in the uterus due to any reason and it ends on its own before the pregnancy period is completed. In this case, the fetus comes out of the womb before the delivery period is completed. Since there is no flesh in the fetus during the first 3 to 4 months of the pregnancy period, so this miscarriage during this period comes out of the vagina in the form of bleeding like menstruation. About 80 percent of miscarriages often occur during those early months of the nine-month gestational period when the fetus does not turn into a baby. About 15% to 18% of miscarriages are seen during pregnancy. Many of these women are those whose miscarriage happens immediately after their menstruation stops and even they are not even aware of their pregnancy.

Causes of Miscarriage

Many of the following causes and risk factors may be responsible for miscarriage-

  • Chromosome disorder

Abortions occurring within three months are mostly due to the disorders found in the chromosomes of the fetus, resulting in the normal development of the fetus. In the fetus that develops in the very early stages of pregnancy, the chromosomes are abnormal by which the pregnancy does not develop properly from the beginning. This chromosome defect is natural. A normally developing fetus gets 23 chromosomes from its mother's egg and 23 chromosomes from the father's sperm. But in the case of chromosome disorder, the fetus gets too many or very few chromosomes from the mother's egg and the father's sperm, resulting in the embryo being destroyed before it develops into an infant.

  • Prescription drugs

Even a simple medicine during pregnancy is very harmful to the baby. In such a situation, if a pregnant woman consumes medicines during pregnancy without any advice, it increases the chances of miscarriage much more. Excessive consumption of antibiotics and medicines like ibuprofen can cause a woman to have a miscarriage.

  • Older age

Women who are 40 years of age or older are also more likely to have an abortion. A chromosomal disorder begins to occur at the increasing age of a woman. During this period, women who conceive develop a fetus with a chromosomal disorder. As a result, such a fetus is unable to develop further and in a very short time, a woman miscarries.

  • Some diseases

If the woman is already suffering from any disease then the risk of miscarriage is high for them. When a woman conceives who suffers from any of the diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, uterine or cervical problems, celiac disease, thyroid, lupus, kidney problems, etc. so their risk of miscarriage get also very high.

  • Poor lifestyle

The poor lifestyle of a woman can become a very important cause of miscarriage. If a woman who conceives consumes excessive alcohol and smoking, takes drugs, irregular eating, irregular sleeping time, then such women are at the risk of miscarriage.

  • Hormonal changes

Estrogen and progesterone are the two hormones produced in a woman's body. When a woman conceives, these two hormones protect the womb. But when there is an imbalance in these hormones, this imbalance causes miscarriage. More age, excess stress, unhealthy lifestyle, excessive intake of steroid drugs, obesity all lead to disparities in the levels of these hormones that can lead to a miscarriage of a woman.

  • Other reason

Many other risk factors can cause a woman's miscarriage. Excessive weight of the woman, weak immune system, infection, excessive intake of caffeinated substances, any health problems with the baby or mother, excessive stress, consumption of hot impact foods, etc. are many reasons that can cause a woman's miscarriage.
