Coronavirus: How Fatal is It?

The term ‘coronavirus’, which was almost unheard of a few months back, is now on the lips of almost everybody in the world. But was it really that unheard of? And what really is it? And how should you take precautions against it? These are some of the questions that will be answered over the course of this blog.

What is Coronavirus?

Coronavirus refers to a virus that is a part of the group of viruses known as coronaviruses. Discovered in the 1960s, coronaviruses have been studied and research has suggested that certain they can trigger mild to severe respiratory complications in human beings.

Not all kinds of coronaviruses have been discovered, but a type of coronavirus, named, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Related Coronavirus (SARSr-CoV), took the world by storm in late 2002. The outbreak of the virus happened in southern China and caused the disease known as SARS. By the time it was brought under control in July 2003, it had managed to kill 774 people across 17 countries.

So, as you can tell, coronavirus is not a new term. It is a term that had simply faded from the public memory until COVID-19 appeared.

The Origins of COVID-19 and Its Symptoms

COVID-19, the latest coronavirus-caused disease, appeared first in the Chinese city of Wuhan. However, as authorities around the world were slow in recognizing its potential, the viral disease has spread around the world.

  • Fever
  • Dry Cough
  • Fatigue
  • Sputum Production
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Joint or Muscle Pain
  • Sore Throat
  • Headache
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Nasal Congestion

If you have started feeling one or more of the aforementioned symptoms, then you should take the following steps:

The good thing about COVID-19 is that most mild cases are getting resolved on their own. However, people with weak immune systems, particularly the old, are prone to developing severe symptoms.

  • Don’t visit your doctor. Call first and talk about your condition. The first step involves assessment over the phone to check if you need to be tested for COVID-19.
  • Buy a face mask and try to wear it at all times, even if you are not tested positive for COVID-19.
  • If you are tested positive, you should isolate yourself in a room and stop interacting with your family members and pets for some time.
  • If the symptoms worsen, call up a trusted healthcare provider.

Safety Measures You Should Take

As vaccines are yet to be developed, the following preventive measures should be taken by you and your family on an everyday basis to minimize the threat of infection.

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap frequently.
  • Ensure that your hands are clean before putting them near/into your mouth.
  • Cover your sneeze or cough. Use a tissue and dispose it once you are done.
  • Identify objects in your home that are frequently touched by you and family members and use disinfectants to clean them regularly.

Gomutra: A Possible Preventive Measure

Cows, revered in India for their holiness, have been providers to Indian people for centuries. However, cows have not just given milk to India’s people. Gomutra or cow urine, has been in the news recently as well, for its resurgence. Cow urine boasts of a plethora of therapeutic properties, and these properties may strengthen the body’s immune system drastically.

Apart from strengthening the body’s immune system, research into cow urine has shown that it can benefit people suffering from a whole host of medical conditions such as:

  • Arthritis
  • Heart disorders
  • Fits
  • Prostrate problems
  • Ulcers
  • Acidity
  • Migraine
  • Piles
  • Gynaecological issues
  • Constipation
  • Eczema
  • Asthma
  • Psoriasis
  • Blood pressure problems

While the global medical community’s scientific research is yet to come up with a vaccine capable of keeping the SARSr-CoV2 virus in check, gomutra can be an effective alternative medicine that may help people to fight against a COVID-19 infection.

Jain’s Cow Urine Therapy provides a number of cow urine treatments and therapies that bestow the many health benefits of cow urine upon patients looking for alternative medicine that does not cause harmful side effects.
